Rick Bass black Rhino book needs more words on the Rhino and less on people
The Black Rhino is an incredible beast that time has built to be a remarkable creature that fears nothing except the muzzle of a mans gun. I looked forward to reading the naturist Rick Bass's account of his trip to Namibia and studying and observing this rare creature that is on the brink. Mr Bass has written great adventures of Grizzly bears and other things that go bump in the night in North America. however this book was remarkably boring and he spent too much time trying to find Rhinos and talking about other people in his trip through the vas remote deserts of Namibia. Maybe he didn't think that an animal that has been hunted to the brink of extinction would be pretty hard to find and marvel in person. I may avoid future books by Mr Bass if half of his writings will be about rich jagoffs who have the funds to travel and observe the great creatures of nature. I was expecting some cool rhino action in this book. Instead of the rhino bashing jeeps from the side I got all this useless information on other people in the safari with Mr Bass. If you are going to travel to Namibia and write about rhinos try to come up with something for the reader to get excited by while resding the book. The Black Rhino is struggling to survive and it derves a better promotion and account than this book from Mr Bass. Poachers taking advantage of warfare in this region have decimated this beautiful animal and Mr Bass does talk about the geograpy and this animals incredible survival is such intolerable conditions.
