Tyler Cowen wrote this ridiculous piece in Time magazine
talking about how Texas is a reflection of America and why the freedom of economic opportunities and free of regulation is helping to lead to a migration. into Texas. Texas is having a migration basically because there are people that refuse to pay taxes and Texas has no state income taxes. Texas is an ugly state and one of the worse environmentally and just to look. Its sprawl cities offer nothing in an age where oil and energy prices are to make the automobile just a luxury item for the real well off. Texas offers the poor nothing but poor wages and a harder life and I am sure the migration from South of the border will stall as Mexico improves. The Texas model of government is one that needs to be ridiculed and not praised but this jackass 
seems to want every state in the union to replicate the scary ideas of Texas. Tyler seems to only concentrate on the growth of one area of Texas that is the flagship home of Texas University and really the only progressive city in the rotten red state. he fails to mention the poverty of Brownsville, the despair of Wichita Falls, or the dullness of Amarillo. the fact is Texas is a miserable poor state that has the most abundance of inequality you will ever find in the Western world. it is a state that always offers natural born citizens little chance for economic rise and why so many are pretty much forced to accept a military career overseas. Texas is really the modern equivalent of a modern day confederacy nation had they somehow managed to win the civil war and for this well known economist and writer to praise this state shows how stupid and uninformed some writers can be from the elite media
