Richards Bar is a trendy bar near downtown where a lot of different people go from all walks of life. This bar is pretty popular with Chicagoans and tourists alike despite it being a pretty basic dive bar with one television and a bunch cheesy of pictures of long dead gangsters. What really gets me livid as a bartender though is the vagrant disrespect for state laws and open smoking that goes omN in thus bar. I have never seen a bar that so openly violates the no smoking law that all bars have to follow and we do strictly at the Itasca inn . Most bars would get fined often and would get liquor license revoked quickly but there must be a different set of rules for folks who own Richards in Chicago on Milwaukee and Grand where heal stead meets them. I enforce smoking laws and take them seriously yet a dump like Richards allows people to smoke and encourages handing out white styrofoam cups for their customers. This unequal treatment smells fishy and I wonder how a place like Richards is able to get away breaking state smoking laws. Perhaps a alderman is a fan and frequents this bar and maybe there are others in Chicago that allow puffers to inhale their toxin Chemicals for them and people sitting around them to enjoy. Whatever the case it is pretty bad to see a bar stick its nose and finger to the city and state and get away with is shit
Smoking in bars is a rare thing nowadays, and it's good to see they still exist. They were allowed to have smoking due to a grandfather clause or something. And if you don't like that people are smoking, step outside. Nobody is forcing you to be in there.
