Thomas Frank calls out shallow conservatives that would destroy government

  Thomas Frank brings another great read  with this book called the Wrecking Crew how conservatives rule. Frank looks at how conservatives once given power ruthlessly try to cut government and basically privatize everything in the crony capitalistic economic plans that have been drawn up for decades. He starts off the book explaining the Washington boom and the tripling of corporate lobbyists in and around Washington, D.C.  This has been one of the biggest spread of wealth to one region in this nations history and basically the rise of the lobbyist has contributed mightily to income inequality in America. You see poor folks can't raise the amount of cash to have people pulling strings and corrupting officials like corporations are able to swindle. Conservative anti government cynicism is responsible for the flow of cash into political races as they are in a desperate race in time to get their crushing legislation in place to transform this country and turn the clock back to when only rich folks had a voice.

  Thomas shows how conservatives see the state as the enemy and war is used to cripple our government in debt as much as profit their political war chest through private companies they give contracts to overseas. They basically want to wage war to benefit their private contractors and wage war on governments that they don't agree with and Frank shows this in their interests in Angola's civil war. Back in America public servants that were not part of Reagan's ideology were sacked and the funding for federal workers slashed the attack on civil service workers continued with the Clinton and Bush administrations as a republican plan to smash their internal political foes. They wanted as much as possible to make public service an I attractive career choice

   Frank spends chapters studying the lobbyists themselves and another chapter on the marshal islands where the free market was free to abuse and exploit Asian migrant workers and the lobbyist and big wig fat cats free to get five dollar sex from Hungary Asian women. The amount of ethics these conservatives have with their goal and type of greedy capitalism is disgusting and Frank shows throughout this great book what we can expect whenever republican conservatives and their business corporate wing gain control. The free market vision that they dream is one that was in place in apartheid South Africa. Where the third world bumped up against the first world and big business had a poverty stricken group that would be forced to take slave wages. They have helped bring the third world to much of the first world pulling people and setting up bases all over for easy access. they want to basically bring a new type of colonialism without borders to have access to cheap people capital and land everywhere to exploit,extract, and environmentally destroy.
