Professor at Gilligans Island is dead

  The professor on Gilligan's island is dead. Russel Johnson was one of the few remaining cast members of this program still to be alive but he is no longer dieing at the age of eighty nine. The professor was one of the best and highly intellectual characters in the sixties and his character is often overlooked as one of the most brilliantly performed.Gilligan's island was a totally stupid show but one of my favorite from a television era that was more fun than today's pathetic cop shows and other reality bullshit that only stupid people watch. 

      The amount of science and data that the professor shared on what was pretty much a stale comedy in the sixties was one of the few bright spots for this program. A spinoff definitely should of been made for the professor returning to the states and nailing college chicks. I am sure in the late sixties this scenario could of been more fore coming with the sexual revolution. Russel did not seem to get to many television opportunities in the following decades and I really don't care to search his career on IMDB or elsewhere on the Internet. I am positive that he appeared in some television programs in the seventies perhaps the Love Boat or love American Style. Russel just had that lover character down pat and it is too bad that the male Sherwood Schwartz didn't want to show some more island foreplay on Gilligan's island. I was pretty devastate by the news of Russel's death although I can't say I really ever thought of the dude and thought he was already somewhere else. Russel Johnson dead at the age of eighty nine.
