I never thought someone can write a whole socialist anti- Disney rant that could be over two hundred pages but the great Henry Giroux did in the book called "The Mouse That Roared". In this book Henry criticizes the whole corporate culture of Disney and the white bread racism it has represented all these years brainwashing kids to a consumer addicted benevolence to the shrine of Disney products. Mickey Mouse is one of the ugliest crudely drawn coming cartoon in the history of characterization and how the it got such a cult is a mystery. The power of this company's corporate reach and ability to shape culture is a concern especially how it continually expands in ever further venues. This is the most brutal examination you will find on this company and its actions and innovation into shaping itself into a political and psychological force. Giroux really examines how Disney is getting its tentacles more in the educational industry and that really should be a concern given the history and culture of this company. The arm twisting for tax breaks and labor practices on its workforce is enough to make this company disdained by progressives. The treatment of workers at the theme parks is well documented through many writings and Giroux continues the criticism of Disney through this book and how workers are treated like peons. Disney was a pioneer in national security surveillance technology in the past and just a walk through the park usually shows the homogeneity it promotes in its American locations. This company has Eco,e very conservative and is the biggest advocate of consumerism and globalization promoting American individualism and patriarchal heritage of a bu gone era. Disney is a multinational company that shows little concern with the individual states around the world and does its best to undermine and insult traditional cultures and Henry points out many examples at its theme parks and past movies on this. Tis is a great book by Henry Irous and he nAils it with all that is wrong and shameful about fucking Disney
