Michael T Klare's appearance on Peak Prosperity

Ramon Ramos
Michael Klare was on Chris Mortenson's excellent podcast called Peak Prosperity. He basically talked a out energy demands and how we will be forced to cut back one way or a or  through expense and the free-market. Many jackasses don't realize but their energy consumption large home and many mile travel lifestyle will ultimately come to an end in America. Klare s an author who is an expert on geography and the regional conflicts that will eventually be witnessed as neighbors fight for the last remain g resources dug deep in the Earth. Setting aside the fact that burning these fossil fuels will seal the environment and eventually mankind's own fate. K
lare sees all the to spots as being caused by the demands for modern economies for these Earth destroying finite resources. This awesome professor states that functioning modern states need these ever more rare resources just to survive and function and remain a state and a state out of being overrun by barbarians that most of human history has been held under. This often gives motivation and reason for conflict among diverse groups of people who otherwise would not be in conflict is not having to battle for these key resources in life. Without these oil and other dirty energy resources you cannot fight a war and stand up to your neighbors if they so wish to become hostile and make a border raid or land grab. Klare talks a bit about so e of these nations and particularly I found his take on Nigeria very interesting as the corrupt practice of the leadership and their connected elites has help mold and create the terrorist group Boko Haram. Radical Islams rise in recent years is a direct result of the corrupt ways of Neo Liberalistic domination of economies and nations debt and spending. I have a sister who talks so highly of her Nigerian neighbors in Crystal Lake and how they are different from African Americans and little does she realize the systematical ways why some Nigerians are better off and more educated than others. Michael Klare is an interesting read and a great listen to whenever you get a chance and come across this intelligent dude. The Middle East is a mess and Klare goes through exactly why this is the way and oils influence in causing this instability.
