In the unrelenting crusade to get the Washington Redskins to quit using a racist name activists stepped it up this past Sunday in Minnesota. This state has a large American Indian population and is home to many progressives so it was natural that thousands of protesters would show up outside Vikings stadium when the Washington Pigskins came to town.
They marched around the university of Minnesota airing more followers and eventually made their way to the parking lot of the game and disturbing the proud American eating and football tradition of tailgating before an NFL game. Jesse Ventura was there and recently had a rant on his Internet channel about what a weasel Daniel Snydor is for resisting demands from Native Americans to end this insult this organization has caused for generations with this derogatory term. There were many other notable speakers and protestors who showed up for this event and there will be many ,ore opportunities for protest as this owner has continually refused to back down and change the name embarrassing the league and reputation of one that has global or at least English expansion. This football franchise needs to be continually followed and harassed on their road trips wherever and whomever they play away from Washington and protests need to be revved up outside in their home stadium as well. Sooner or later Snyder will get the message.
