I was listening to the great old school wrestling podcast that can be found at
www.flairchop.com as they recalled the old Jake "snake' Roberts and Rick Rude feud. This was a feud that I called before it occurred to my friends as both of them were in the WWF in their prime with tremendous head finishing jobs and sooner or later they would feud. Of course, Vince McMahon was in charge of story lines and had to bringing some outside female drama story as Rick Rude made a pass to Jake Robert's wife in the stands one day.
jake Roberts was not a buff dude nor was his old lady any special as rude went home with several hot bitches a night after a performance. I once was in Stay Out Night Club in stone park seeing this guy do rock nose candy with a ton of bitches at his side he likely met up with down the street at the Rosemont Horizon. there was no way he would ever waste time with some woman that would of married a dude like Jake Roberts.
As hosts of old school wrestling podcasts Dre and Black Cat pointed out this feud between these two WWF wrestling stars were enduring compared to other feuds in wrestling and the storyline lasted several seasons. This was a great match up with a great lot and was deserving of main event headlines although it got buried in the monopoles mess that was the WWF at this time with too many super stars and not enough championship belts. rude would be dead a few years later and Jake Roberts still ekes out a meager career in wrestling to this day making some jingle from a few poor appearances in tiny independent promotions around the country reflecting his glory days and name that was once a part of pro wrestling.
