Beloit, Wisconsin is a town in transition and going downhill fast. Black residents and crime from Rockford is headed their way and this weekend saw a excision of crime for this community as I was visiting a fellow bartender and writer. There has been an explosion of shootings,stabbing s, and other criminal activity that has long time residents n a state of flux. Police are looking for Andy "Man-Man " Davis who shot several people this weekend at theTurtle Tap on Grand Avenue in Beloit. This bar has been known for a long time of one of the youngest and roughest bars in the area and is nothing like the bar I bartend which of course is the Itasca Inn. tatoo freaks and now appearently dreadlock muggers now use this as a base for Southern Wisconsin.The bar got its name being next to a creek where Native American Potawatomi use to hunt turtle and drink soup and liquor and t is ironic that there is still heavy drinking goi g on in this area.
