I was driving by Kenosha Wisconsin the other day and was saddened to see one of the few fast food chains I actually enjoyed and looked forward to going closed. The Fazoli's on 75 th in Kenosha is gone after a long run of serving basic cheap Italian food. this was always a good place for people not willing to go to the more expensive but not very more ameliorate Italian independent restaurants. This is exactly what I loved about Fazoli's and over the years I now have seen four of these restaurants close down. There are none in the Chicago region and I just ran across an article about this chain from back in 2011 where the CEO was talking up on he had stopped closures and was improving the brand. I always say when you lose a Pizza hut or a Fazoli's you lose a little bit of America and nothing more shows the drop of the country more than these old restaurants that have been converted to tobacco,l iquor, or Chinese kitchens. As part of my photography collection I always seek out these former taco bells and Pizza Huts that one can clearly tell their past and snap the current business which is usually a shit one such as a Title Loan store or Tobacco shop. All this is possible because of the bullshit these CEOs put out creating this construction and build only to abandon the street and building as soon as possible in the drive for profit. Fazolis's CEO Carl Howard took over the company after it was purchases by a venture capital group and he immediately decided to close some one hundred and fifty stores in the Southwest and other parts of the country back in 2006. this idiot doesn't know what he is doing running this company and giving up on a old long market in Southern Wisconsin while he has eight locations in Lexington, Kentucky absolutely makes no sense. Howard wants to spend more on improving the breadsticks and interior as if people who liked this chain really cared about having such a ten star experience as itlian restaurants are everywhere. If this is what they wanted people would have been going to these places instead of Fazoli's. People in America want a cheap reliable chain to eat and aside from the burgers and fries the choices are limited. Just like Long John Silvers you have these poster-like golden boys dickwads like Carl Howard trying their best to destroy any potential and wealth a chain may have in the name of the hedge fund investors that more seek to destroy a company and make money from selling than revamping and actually improve upon.
