A Jamie Madigan is a self-proclaimed expert on psychology of video games and wrote this very boring book about video games. I thought this would be a real cool book but it was so boring I sleepwalked through much of it despite the video game nature of the topic. This guy sites every cockney study at University settings about video game sand this is the basis of this book with boring mundane research of various principles and topics of psychology that this guy somehow connects young peoples habit of playing video games.
This guy has a PHD and basically is an entrepreneur with some website making grandiose claims of positive effects of video gaming for people. In a nutshell I can explain the addicting effects of adolescents playing video game and this is teen unemployment and nothing for them to do after school. There are no skills that can be developed through most of these games and whatever this writer thinks is the case being a self-consultant on this topic. The heading topics of this book are ridiculous and how he manages getting chapters out from the headlines is amazing and he tries to explain the culture of gamers and flamers I this book. 
The internet has become a social isolation paradigm for young males who basically have no social skills in a real world setting outside of doing activities of holding a controller and Mr Madigan really doesn't dwell in the anti-social aspect of this or the numerous studies that point out the harmful psychological affects of shooting games on the developing mind. This guy is a big backer of teen males just hiding out in their moms basements and this jerk has no concept of what these men would do if we ever had a electrical grid collapse and humanity had no more ability to have video games. These guys would be fucked and would have to be put to work doing something productive instead shooting shit in Starcract or Call of Duty. The rise of autism should really be declared as caused through the use and dependency of video games . This guy wrote this book to help promote the improvements of video gamin g and building communities of on-line competition instead of being honest on the brutal marketing manipulation these consoles and the companies that sell this shit have had for now generations of youth. Jamie Madigan you are no good.
