America experienced a power outage of their minds last weekend as Powerball fever spread like a dry California countryside. Mindless zombies surrendered their brain and opened up their wallets to buy what pretty much accounts for a tax on the stupidity as people greedily thought they could become instant millionaires as quickly as an instant package of oatmeal can be zapped in a microwave. Powerball is the mother of all lotteries in America and the recent 800 million pot was just to much for people to resist. Of course, this fever was helped spread through constant media campaigns to inform people of the jackpot and pretty much get them spending more money on paper with numbers as the odds of anyone winning are so remote. At least the corporate media did do a good job of reporting the one in 380 billion or so odds of actually matching all six numbers one from seventy I think. This is just another lamentable example of how the casino culture disturbs every corner of American culture seeing the number of people willing to stand in long lines thinking they could join members of the ruling elite class overnight from matching numbers. This is the role Powerball plays though in society giving wishing well saps opportunities for once thinking they can have their own corporate jet earned through hard work and luck of randomly drawn numbers in state lotteries. The cognitive dissonance of America is very evident whenever the jackpots climb and the media gets the public into a mania frenzy of wasting money on these lotteries. The boring news media is complicate of this event and I wonder how much of a cut do they get in lottery sales from the constant free marketing and devotion they spend trying to remind the public that the lottery pot is really really really big this time around. This lottery ball matching scheme essentially accounts to a tax on mostly working and poor classes in America and they are too stupid to even comprehend it.
