Kamel Daoud reflects on North African Brown racism directed towards Sub-Sahara blacks

Andy Cruz
Algerian writer Kamel Dauod has written a piece about the growing anti-Black racism in North Africa and the Maghreb. The growing legions of sub-Sahara Africans are being seen as sub-human to many Arabs and Berbers of North Africa as they see their own human mass migration of Africans who are staying permanently in their lands. Africans are becoming to Algerians and Libyans as Mexicans are to America and this is disconcerting to many Norht Africans. the idea that many f these Africans would adopt Islamic symbols and gear for charity shows the desperation of these migrants knowing full well the violence and potential harm and backlash they may get in Algeria. As Kemel points out there is little empathy of the native Algerians for anyone who is not a Muslim. the instability in surrounding lands has created a flock of humanity into Morocco, Libya and Algeria which has recently turned into violent rejection on par with what is being seen with blacks migrating to South Africa and being rejected by Natives in South Africa. Kamel Daoud is ashamed of this attitude of his brown Berbers and he admits in his region and part of the world Muslims see religion as he claims Europeans see skin color and both are just wrong. The incredible xenophobia Mr Daoud sees is depressing but what really gets him down is few calls of objection in Algerian and Libyan society against how these Muslim hairheads and hairfaces are attacking people. These guys are no different that European skinheads except their darker hue and more hair. In many of these cases it is skin color that also plays a major part but Mr. Daoud will never want to admit this or even suggest his fellow North Africans can share with the west in hating the Blacks of Africa.
The same fear Arabs and Berbers of North Africa have about the swarming masses of the south is the same fear Australians have about the boatloads and potential masses from Asia coming down from the North. Kemel says the brown in north African nations would never shake hands with the bantu blacks would never allow marriage of their daughters and would never share a home and some Oatmeal cookies and the prejudices black migrants living in these countries face is monstrous. The same position of millions of Blacks who have converted to Islam but for generations have lived to servitude as these migrants is evidence of the generation racism  that plays more than religion in the attitude of Berbers, Arabsism, and other north African Medittearrean Muslims that shares more in common with the people on the other side of the sea than a Mr Daoud would care to share and admit.
