Las Vegas and Bill Foley don't deserve any sports teams
Guy Baldwin Once again backers for pro sports in sin city and the city of corruption and gambling were pushing for professional sports team in the city and the other day the NHL awarded Vegas with a hockey tea. An expansion team will play starting the 2017-18 season and unless corporate backers buy up the majority of tickets and give them for free few seats will be viewed in this place. Nobody goes to Las Vegas to watch sports and the working class is too busy to get behind sports organizations of any kind. Elite business travelers from China will not have American sports leagues on their vacation agenda and you know will mostly gamble. What this is and represents is another ugly ric old White man wants an opportunity to own a team, over-value the organization and use it for more leverage and low-interest loans from Las Vegas Community Bank. This is Las Vegas and not Cleveland and Cleveland would of been a more logical move to expand than Disneyland. The NHL is declining in profits and basically need the five hundred million dollars for an expansion fee that the idiot Bill Foley is willing to ay to feed his ego and be able to declare himself a sports owner. The Las Vegas Black Knights will be a major money loser. A team in Vegas will only encourage athletes to bet on their teammates and in many cases will short a game but this is irrelevant as sports organizations and competition have long gone away from real competition in becoming a rigged system manipulated by television and media. maybe this is why there is no longer resistance to marketing a team in a place that can so monetarily corrupt a sport. This team will start draining money and mr Foley will continually ask casino owners or government for a bail out. I just want to know who is actually going to want to get up from the casino floors and waste a couple of hours , in Vegas no less, to sit for hours and watch hockey. unless owner Bill Foley opens up a personal slot next to each seat this venture has about has much long term success as Mozambique does of being the first country to land on mars.
