Duke of Perth bar arrogant owner prefers to hear A holes instead of network programming

There has been some discussion about the role of television in bars and restaurants in recent years and the debate rages all of the time between the various tavern owners in the area. for the record I have been a big advocate as a bartender at the Itasca Inn for TV as sometimes there are customers I no need to speak. The owner of the Duke of Perth bar in Chicago hates television in bars and Colin Cameron thinks they are a conversation killer. his example is followed by some other bar owners although they get out the boob tube when a big playoff game occurs in the city. A bar that is a TV free-zone is a boring place and friends and customer can still hang out and talk regardless if there is a TV or not. The Colin Cameron's of the world live in 1949 and need to realize most people love having the option of a television around in a bar. A restaurant can easily get away with not having a TV set but how the hell a bar would not want to have a couple of sets on is unbelievable and is condescending in nature and typical of an attitude that one would associate in an area with young professionals. To them the outside world don't matter and everything revolves around them and their lives. The Duke of Perth needs to worry about serving better food than bullshit with Aldi's frozen peas and bad fish from fucking Illinois River. A bar without a TV is like a bar without whiskey or a bar without a bathroom and until the day of age comes where most households reject television and do not have one it makes no economic sense for a bar not to have TV. Only the most Tv hating stubborn jackasses would run a bar without a TV thinking everyone who comes through the doors wants to hear loudmouth drunks more than what may be on TV on a slow Tuesday Night. There is nothing distracting about having a TV in a God dam bar and how these bars advertise this lack of amenity is total crap. Televisions are ubiquitous and how these bars don't have one when there is a big awards event in prime time or playoff game is incredulous.
