Roger Simon wrote an article of how these are dark days because we do not have a war hawk and funder of terrorists in office anymore. Roger Simon and the political establishment really don't want a leader for America but one of a neo-liberal capitalist hegemony willing to spend American tax payer money to fund the foreign investing and corrupt elite classes in other countries. This is who Roger Simon and other shills in the media speak for and why they have been attacking Donald trump with such venomous  and misinformative poison since he declared his candidacy for the White House. Liberals of the urban elite blue city states of America are besides themselves and cannot believe a nationalist has been elected as they ling ignored their own writings and disdain for the Middle Class. A Roger Simon writes for the mainstream media which seeks the status quo and seeks to maintain a hierarchal  order where preference is given to corrupt foreigners than Americans and a Simon will lie and Simon says democracy is now threatened when in fact it worked and prevented the media coronation of what would of been a disastrous   second Clinton nobility rule that worked wonders for only a small percentage last time around. the politico writer Roger Simon preferred to see the United states with a global president such as the awful Angela Merkel whose regime woks harder to improve the lives of Syrians and bring down the lifestyle and German nation by bringing in millions of uneducated nd rural backward Muslims from the Middle East. Perhaps the Jewish ruling classes seek to displace as man Muslims in the middle east and seek to relocate them in Europe and America and this is something the Roger Simons' back in their writing which is hardly ever politically in the Middle. America gave assholes like Roger Simon another middle finger in this election and this is why Roger Simon thinks these days are dark.
