Alderman Joe Moreno threatens owner of Double Door Milwaukee Avenue building while James Howard Kuntsler agrees with our call to his program of the suburbanization of hipster areas

Baxter Lomax
I called into James Howard Kuntsler's award winning new urbanist radio program to talk about the situation in Wicker Park last month and another area in Milwaukee where the corporate class is quickly trying to transform the area to bring about an end f bars for box stores and gas stations. The situation of the famed Double door club in hipster Wicker Park is the new reality as the neo-liberalization internationalist investor classes seek property and transformation for their Sushi Cheap Chinese sea food mark up Pponzi scheme outlets in urban areas. Alderman Joe Moreno was furious that the landlord Brian Strauss so quickly evicted the business establishment of the Double door which was the anchor of rebirth in the area and the transformation of Wicker Park form a white-Puerto Rican gang battleground to a cool music hipster bar area that attracted tolerant young artists from all over.
The jackass Strauss is hoping to sell the property so a target or some boring lame ass strip mall deal can fit into this area and make it as lame as Dupage and Kane County. James Howard Kuntsler said these hipster areas developed across the nation in areas long given up by the corporatism and that the young and vibrant made these places cool and drinking. Now the corporatists and their international boring migrants wish to purchase these areas and put up Subway and Dunkin Donuts and transform wicker park into Oak Brook or Rosemont, Illinois. Joe Moreno threaten this jackass he will do everything in his power to restrict the type of establishment he can rent out and told Strauss in no way will he allow this great old three story building to be torn down for expensive condos or a mini Target store attached to a mattress store
. This is all you see in Chicago's Milwaukee's and Indianapolis suburbs I told Kuntsler and James said that these greedy capitalists would seek to destroy all vestiges of historical buildings to put up cheap cement concrete buildings. Indeed the Chicago suburbs and especially DuPage County is seeig a major uptick of strip mall construction which I find amazing givent he already plethora of mpty buildings that no tenant wishes to come in and pay high rents for a shitty Mexican-American Latino increasing population. Most of the food businesses in Mexican neighborhoods are these bad taco and taqueria places that are just front for money laundering as are sushi restaurants.
If you see any Taqueria with Jalisco on its name this is a signal that drugs are sold as well as there is no Jalisco style of cooking. Kuntsler agreed with the strong tactic of Alderman Joe Moreno who knows this owner is particular wishes to make mass profit at the expanse of buildings and businesses that put Wicker park and Buck Town on the map and attracted people from throughout Chicagoland on the weekends wishing to escape from the dullness ubiquitous of the suburban landscape and have a bar hopping walk-able experience in the summer on the weekends. This style and hipness in both Wrigleyville and Wicker park  is now under attack form the boring CEO Chicago scam class and their immigrant cronies from the South and far East who wish now to have control and assets to own for their families. Moreno was caught on camera telling this shithead Strauss that he will not have a tenant in three years and will do everything in his power to prevent bullshit lameness being brought into this neighborhood. Its good to see a local politician fight to preserve the special qualities of a community and I told Kuntsler and his co-host Dylan of the importance of this three decade club that has hosted the Rolling stones,  a gay green day with Billie Joe Armstrong and Tea man Billy Corgan's smashing Pumpkins among others. The flaming Lips also once played there and did the song blister in the sun for the first time. Moreno didn't care that all these people were filming and he told this kraut Strauss that he was going to zone his buildings and that no smoke shop or auto parts store would ever see the light and be allowed in this unique building that wraps around an important key intersection seen in so many movies filmed in the city in the past. James Howard said it is the greed of the scum like Brian Strauss that has allowed the erosion of public space and the tragedy and eye sore of the American road landscape throughout America and the few urban oasis special places and their local alderman need to fight these bloodsuckers of communities.
