Dan Bernstein had enough of college football athletic department arms race

College athletic departments have long scammed the system and creating a complex expensive system subsidized by corporations and the commercialization they wish to see and spend. Chicago's radio host Bernstein is elated that the NCAA oversight committee is now gathering information on how these athletic departments spend their money and whether all these titles and staff members are needed as athletic programs seek to one-upmanship over other programs which is unnecessary and questionable cronyism spending. Dan Bernstein is starting to get more and more political and this is good to see for the sports talk radio broadcast world where listeners are often constantly tunned out to more important and relevent issues.

Bernstein decries these massive complexes springing up allowing contractors to profit form constant spending of the sports industrial complex. many of these complexes are resembling playgrounds more that anything resembling what a traditional sports locker room or complex has looked in the past. The athletic departments often hire assistant and assistant most often being friends or relatives in search of an easy gig that surrounds a football team that plays ten games a year. Bernstein and others not happy with this inequality and structure of hierarchy where old coaches make all the economic gains and the players play for o pay and for free and the cable television subscription system that has allowed this slavery to exist may be in a bubble. Bloated athletic departments with over-sized staffs and multi-millionaire coaches is a system that existed when there was a massive bull market and as the economy tanks athletic departments will need to question their priorities and perhaps players will question why they are supporting this system and not making any jingle from their hard work, sweat, and stress,
