Money Speak
Joel Kotkin is a urbanist and loves to write and discuss the cities and their economic domination and role in history. Kotkin has written an excellent book looking at history of cities and their role of increasing power and progression n a global sense in the upcoming years. Kotkin covers how cities developed along with civilization from early religion centers to capitals of imperial strength in a book simply called "The City". I wished he had dealt though in more with the profitization of the tine top percent from human migrations and economic labor exploitation and he fails this in his short book less than two hundred pages. it is the ability of money to be created in the modern age that fuels the growth of the big city that earlier i the past century was on the brink of dissolving before rich people came up with more clever ways and debts to get people to migrate from the countryside and work hard making money for the insider corrupt classes dominating government and ahh well cities.
The evolution of cities to mercantile-minded domination would be the single force that transformed cities and the increased contact between people is the basis of much of the wealth that has been created through trade but hardly gets distributed fairly and equally in all senses and this fact meres the creation of wealth and the solo fact for the importance of big city. Cities can manage a population better and force a sense of security and protection for the upper classes and their acquired products that they need to distinguish one form the lower classes and only for this manner has the city served mankind through the ages.
Kotkin goes into depth of the skyscraper era and the threats to continuing domination of cities in a global order that is increasingly under attack by the traditionalists and the countryside around the world full well seeing that the economic pie is not being allocated equally regionally around the world. the city has become a haven for the kleptocracy to continue their corruption at unprecedented levels and have allowances to demolish and rebuild whatever suits their interests and for fake real-estate overvaluation that is the key to much of the power, money, and wealth for the one percent in todays rigged markets.
