The Grizwell comic strip is perhaps the best drawn and written strip of this day. This comic strip is often over-looked and not as well-known as other comic strips. Comic artist Bill Schorr draws a bear in in character comic form much superior than any other comic artist and he blows the bad drawn bears of Patrick McDonnell way out much like a bear can claw out fish from a river. there really is no comparison and it is amazing all the press coverage, accolades and awards that a Patrick McDonell gets a Bill Schorr draws the most amazing character. The Grizwells follow a big old bear and his wife as he lounges and talks the shit and feels the breeze with a hedgehog named ahhh Sonic.
Patrick McDonnell is an excellent dog and cat drawer but on drawing a Bear is is horse shit and looks more like a horse than a bear. The Grizwells also is a more interesting dialogue comic strip with intelligent discussion that take stime to deliver by the artist, where as the Mutts strips are short, repetitive, and more closely resemble hall mark greeting cards that fun and interesting dailies in a new print and paper form of the discerning reader. Patrick McDonnell's Mutts comic strips are cute and like I said are more appropriate for a greeting card sale store and gift items than actual creative and important role of the comic strip in american culture.
The Grizwells represent average views of the common every man and thought while the quick one timers of a Patrick McDonnell are pretty good for a quick second.
