Inspector Luger was quarrenteed overnight with other detectives in a episode of Barney Miller, one of the best iconic seventies comedy sitcoms around. the inspector is old school policeman and detective and being stuck in the 13th precinct because some convict arrested had smallpox was no big paradigm for him until he met Marty and Clyde Driscoll of this program who had stopped in to see Barney and ask a favor. Inspector Luger couldn't believe what flaming homosexuals had made their way into the 13th precinct and how man like this existed and seemed to be spreading in the mid seventies.
Marty and Clyde were disgraceful girlie man to Inspector Luger a veteran of some thirty years of the New York City police force and mp en like Marty and Clyde didn't exist when the inspector was growing up and their actions both shocked and appalled him. Inspector Luger couldn't believe how these guys talk, dress, and shake hands and it had to be shocking for people suddenly to discover all these fruit cups out and about suddenly in a neurotic urban united way in the early seventies. Marty and Clyde were sillier than a pink goose and basically should of had their own spin off series nut alas the times were not ready for GLBQT or transvestites to appear on telvision,.
