A new book called ten innings in Wrigley Field looks at the famous game in May of 1979 yours truly went to where the Chicago Cubs and Philadelphia Phillies scored a hundred runs and home runs were going left and right. Author Kevin Cook catches the scene before massive intrusion of money went into baseball out pricing real fans for those in the business world who wish to make work and pleasure and ultimate reality for themselves and use companies to preserve high prices and ability for themselves to use company resources for freebies for themselves and their business partners.
Dave Kingman was the man and a rival to the Phillies Mike Schmidt as the two battles back and forth in the home run title leadership board reminiscent of the Sammy Soaa and Mark Mcgwire battle to break Roger Maris home run tittle in 1997. Dave Kingman much like president Trump hated the
mainstream media in this bamboozle city and the sports media then and now is just like the CNN and MSNBCs of today. Kong hit a home run in this game that went so far off Waveland I thought it was going to land on my porch three blocks away. Reporters like Les were a big pain in the ass and the Grobber is lucky Dave Kingman didn't beat the shit out f him and in many ways the people of the press and reporting industrial complex have always been agitators and instigators whether it is annoying presidents or athletes.
Incredibly Les Grobstein is still on the air in Chicago recalling old game such as this and sports event sin 1966 in June and how this clown has managed such longevity in sports is anyone's guess as many sports athletes and managers have hated this bozo. Les often gets odd drunk late night calls where he often has to hit the dump button and we always recommend people to call his program and get in a cuss word or two as it makes entertaining listening whenever he has to dump and then uncomfortably changes the subject and the dead of the air at three in the morning
