The spirit of P 97 cougar in California is not resting in heaven and is in peace after being struck by a Mack truck on Highway 405 or whatever. The news that P 97 is dead sent shockwaves to followers of the Puma and cougar and this beloved cougar was one of the friendliest Mountain Lions one would ever come across according to wildlife authorities. The shocking hit and run is being investigated and a trucker in El Segundo is being questions and htis tragedy again highlights the fact that wildlife faces daily danger with snarling traffic in Los Angeles and the loss of this Puma cannot be underestimated as this P07 played a important part of the ecosystem keeping the Jackrabbits and jackasses at bay and populations low.
I don't know how many tragic stories in Florida and California we have to report of various cougars being tagged and then discovered killed unnecessary from reckless driver not caring nor caring about killing this cat like beast and part of nature. The paws and Head of P 97 have be decapitated and frozen and will be put on auction to help fund a wildlife sanctuary in Santa Barbara , California and this lovely Cougar will be missed by all people and things except for its prey species as tis amazing Cougar was what makes California so Golden and special,
The local community was saddened by yet another violent death by automobile of a friendly cougar sand this latest tragedy was particularly painful as new bridges are about to be built to help aid the dispersal of crazy cougars into a neighborhood near you. Many people are also questioning why authorities waste so much time collecting data and tagging these beasts when half of them will wind up not killed by a grizzly or Polar Bear nbut by trucks and vans in various parts of heavy traffic and congestion as this eighteen month od and still a baby cougar fell victim a couple of weeks ago.
