In the early nineties Algeria's Muslims won an election and the army refused to allow the governmental transition to emerge. A coup just like what happened in Egypt occurred in this huge North African country and a long bloody civil war ensued and the West backed the military as it wanted its gas and oil. Abdelaziz Bouteflika has been in control for all these years and now rumors have it he is on his death bed. Some rumors are about that the dude as been dead for weeks and Islamic radicals are prepping up for a new war and front as Algeria has avoided the Arab Spring. how much longer this fuck can remain head of state and in power is not known but regardless it is limited. Islamicists would be elected again if free elections were ever held in Algeria again and this is why there is no hurry to repeat the process of 1992 . Elections are due in 2014 and I look for the government to refuse to allow the religious extremists victory again which hopefully will unleash a new war against tyranny and those against self-rule of a people. Aging authoritarian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika has treaded very carefully with his authoritarian rule in the past few years as neighboring countries drifted to brutal conflicts that the Algerian people were weary from the past decades. Algeria is headed though for another Syrian type conflict as the battle for the earths dwindeling resources will make every country a flash point and battlefront on those who wish to monopolize power for themselves and their capitalist cronies the world over. The world must allow Algeria to have the leaders it determines and not the mining and gas companies.
