Bill McKibben's book not so good
Bill McKibben is usually a good author on important topics and the need to get out of the polluting and toxin crating industrial and automobile lifestyle. he has written many great books on environmentalism but this is not one of them. The book "oil and Honey is one of the dullest eco books I have ever come across and I am very disappointed. the whole book is about this guy jet setting all across the world using the energy he so disdain for the rest of us. I could only stomach half of the book and what I read was basically all about him and how he crisscrossed the world for a meeting with this group and how he traveled over to this place. This book makes the movement and Bill McKibben look really bad and the book is just dull and bad . it is all about him and he is just always on a jet going somewhere and it makes some wonder if he is just in it for the fun and travel. This book shows that some people in the movement try to make themselves the movement and I really think the great McKibben needs to examine more closely what he puts out in the future. I know the battle over fossil fuels is a global battle but McKibben can meet with people and not have to do the international jet setting and fuel wasting travels of the business class. The book is about the activist work of McKibben and the rise of his personal in the movement and really does little of giving new insights in the battle to destroy the carbon polluting industries. Anyway good liuck to the activist work and hopefully it serves some function with this books work.
