When I received word that there was a riot in an Indian district in Singapore and immediately
traveled to get an understanding of the situation. not too long ago and Indian national was killed in a ferry accident and the Indians out partying in this hip district decided to take their frustrations out. The December 8th riot was the city states worse riot in forty years and shocked this nation and now they are overreacting deporting the people who do the work most Singaporeans or Chinese don't think is good enough for them. This is the same situation you will find out all over the world as the workers who make their host country run are increasing feel unwanted from xenophobic populations. We are seeing this same outbreaks and attacks on workers from Europe to Saudi Arabia and now another unusual place where one does not hear often of ethnic conflict. I know when I often travel the world I get some of the most hated looks from all sorts of people I encounter and sometimes the Asian countries are the worse. Most Singaporeans could care less of those immigrants or citizens from India and the disregard from the driver that ran over Sakthivel Kumaravelu would hardly care or call this man a human being. As long as this attitude exists in Singapore against Indian and Bangladeshi citizens, I imagine the next riot will more likely not take forty years to occur.
