Matt Lewis recently had some guest on his podcast talking about sports as usual. The guy wants so badly to somehow be involved in the sports industrial complex and be part of the broadcasting. Matt is a conservative and I am sure he is very alarmed that politics and liberalism is getting more involved in his sports. Matt stated that liberalism had found itself in every other arena in life from entertainment, academia, and music and that he enjoyed that sports was a bastion of conservatism, The white male conservatism has made way to more openness and inclusion of voices in recent years and this disturbs folks like Matt Lewis. When a Bob Costas talks about name change for a racist football organization in the nations capital, or he hears talks about protesting the homophobic Russians and their upcoming Olympics. I am sure Matt realizes this is not his grandfathers sports world anymore. The fact that sports also has a much lager imprint in the American culture is another reason for liberalism to get involved and guys like Lewis don't want to hear talk about improving the pay for sports vendors and other important social issues in sports. These are difficult times for the conservative white male sports fanatic and their escape from the liberal dominated society and political world is in jeopardy.
