This is a program that really should of only lasted two years. I had bought season five of this show a few weeks back and was dismayed just how bad it was compared to earlier seasons. it is obvious that writers totally were having trouble coming up with ideas for this gypsy show after five years on the air in the late sixties. basically this program was mostly popular because of the Marilyn Monroe type looks of Barbara Eden at the time. It was only a decade that they were removed from one another and the sexual liberation era had begun. Many a teenager popped a load watching these repeats when alone in the basement. This program though viewing it years later though makes most realize that this show was just dumb.
This program was really bad by season five. All the episodes had lame plots and nothing really amusing using the same gags over and over again. Television producers were so marveled with stop videography and basically Jeannie just blinked over and over again
one positive was television was getting more multi cultural and the show did go to some lengths at showing black people as extras on the fictional air force base where Tony worked. There was even an episode that had a little black kid playing the horn like Louie Armstrong. Jeanie also started wearing more panty free fashion dresses by season five and less of that Hookhah outfit that she was so accustomed through the years. I could of sworn some shots you could see up those very short skirts and see beaver. Aside from that season five was very unmemorable and shows that the show jumped the shark and needed to be ended quickly.had a black kid playing rap music..
