Helen Smith appears of Milt Rosenberg's blog

     Helen Smith is an author who writes about how men are getting screwed and rejecting marriage. I was pleasantly surprised to see her explain some more of this marriage nonsense that men are adopting these days on Milt Rosenberg's podcast. Basically men who are to marrying and staying with the women who bore their kids are men being rejected by these women for not having connections and a stable career.

Helen has written an excellent book examining why men no longer want a part of this institution that works against them in every way. The neo - liberalism free market capitalist system that rewards white collar successful men over most men is the reasoning for the decline of this institution the conservatives like Rosenberg stress as so important. Successful men have more rewards given to women to look the other way to their cheating or inexcusable actions that would get a middle class or working man more into trouble with his wife. Helen Smith mentions this a bit but not as the sole reason why marriage is more successful for higher income people in this country. I would be willing to wager this is the only reason why marriage is declining for some groups more than other groups.

Either way I do enjoy seeing this outdated marriage ritual slowly fade away as importance in society and wish to see it fall in other countries as well where the marriage rates remain way to high. Man is not meant to be monogamous and basically Christian philosophy and pressure along with other religions is primary why it was so considered normal and necessary for societies through the ages. Marriage has been mostly used for property and wealth transfers and the readily seen factors of this institution that establishes inequality through generations would be make many gladly happy to see it disappear.
