The frustration of pro Russian patriots and extremists since the fall of the Soviet Empire has been examined by many and it is clearly showed by the map the Russian newspaper Express Gazeta put out in 2012 where an insider claimed Vladimir Putin clearly wants to see in the foreseeable future of Europe.

They basically take everything that has a sizable Russian into their sphere including Eastern Ukraine, Baltic nations, Moldavia , parts of Georgia while pretty much giving up their holdings in Islamic areas. Russia sees the West breaking up all over the place with France and Poland the really losers of territories and a resurgent Germany becoming more of a continental force. Parts of Europe are indeed breaking up as wealthier areas buy into the propaganda that they are propping up the free loaders and this magazines split of Italy is perhaps the most interesting prediction of this redrawn wish map of Russia.
