Talk radio is a loser platform and increasingly corporate money has been sliding away from paying these stations to advertise their products. While national hosts continue to suck up the market local talent is non-existent and usually recycle the same crap over and over again. Take Steve Dahl weho for years was on Chicago radio mainly kissing ass to be celebrities, spewing nonsense, and talking about his family. Corporate money allowed a clown like this on the air for all these years because they thought having a platform for this lard ass to speak and buying up advertising air time between breaks was some how good business sense. Dahl never had ratings whether it was the seventies, eighties or nineties and six years ago the jackass was finally off the airwaves for good..at least many thought. WLS radio in Chicago decided last week that this scumbag who for years was on the air with racial, sexiest, crude talk as a shock jock somehow should be deserving of another run. Dahl had audacity to say radio was not dead yet but c'mon does this fish brain really think radio is relevant in this day of age with mass cable offerings, internet, and video games. Nobody will listen to what this meat head says in 2014 and Dahl was not even cool in his disco hating era and peak of the late seventies. Without disco demolition people in Chicago would not even care or remember this fool who spent 45 % of his air time over the years talking about his three moronic sons and some gold digging wife. A guy like Dahl lucked out in life really never having to work and would of just of been another lour fat fuck with a divorced life without his cunning ability to remain on the airwaves drawing in seven figures for talking on the radio. Radio is dead because it was already an outdated platform even in the seventies and they paid assholes like him and Howard Stern tons of money without any proof of a following or fan base. Steve Dahl is more irrelevant than ever and only a small aged audience will listen to his final days on corprate radio and media that has financially benefited losers with no ability nor ability for critical thinking discussions on the airwaves.
Sometimes do a 300 mile trek on Friday afternoons and one of the few stations that I can get out in rural Indiana and Michigan is WLS. Thought that Roe Conn was fairly boring, with his endless harping on some middle aged broad who does the traffic report like she was some Venus or something. But then they put on this dreck! WOW was this Steve Dahl show BAD! The dreadful theme song sounded like something Trey Parker and Matt Stone whipped up in 3 minutes for a laughable spoof of how a theme song should sound. And then it was the boringest show I've ever heard. I don't even know which voice was Steve Dahl as they have so many people in there all talking over each other sounding the same except for one dude who I swear to god, sounds EXACTLY LIKE BUTTHEAD FROM THE BEAVIS AND BUTTHEAD SHOW. The resorted to such amateur fillers as having some dude haul out an acoustic guitar and start strumming guitar riffs from has been "Classic Rock" dreck and see who could guess the song the fastest. Also while talking, they just spontaneously started talking lyrics from some John Couger Mellancamp song. I got that they were getting off on this bad, rightfully dead "rock" genre crap and didn't care what the audience thought as they amused themselves. This all made sense when I later found out this Dahl clown was the loser who got together with a bunch of meatballs and blew up those disco albums at Comisky Park in the 70s. Figures. And the joke is on them as "Disco" was a heck of a lot better music than that awful hairy drug addict electric guitar classic rock garbage that these losers think rivals Shakespeare in artistic merit. Somebody at WLS is going to have to get fired for putting this garbage on the air.
ReplyDeleteSomehow Dahl is still on the air. He sounds like a homeless guy broadcasting from a men's room stall at a Greyhound bus station. Listening to him is like being a nursing home care giver, only without the paycheck.
