Columnist Gene Lyons' is quick to dismiss Bernie Sander's candidacy as are many members of the mainstream media that are funded by corporations. Gene Lyons's is another gray-haired pompous ass who wrote a recent column dismissing the rising poll numbers of Bernie Sander's and just says his popularity is hippie-era flashbacks. any poll that shows Bernie Sander's trouncing Republican candidates are suspect to Gene Lyon's and one could probably imagine the idiot saying this in 2004 and 2008 as Obama was increasing.
This guy believes that national media companies ar willing to show close contests to draw more interest despite the fact that the mainstream media has done its best to ridicule sander's platform and dismiss him as a candidate as a Gene Lyon boasts through his awful columns in newspapers across the country. A lie'n Lyon is quick to dismiss a Bernie sander's because a Lyons's like many want to see inequality to persist as long as he is on the top bracket getting paid handsomely to write conservative and Republican leaning articles. A conservative Gene Lyon says people don't really hate the rich or want to see increased taxes on them and whether he is talking about people he talked to at an upscale restaurant or people in a park is not known. 
One poll a gene Lyon trusts though is one he cites as saying fifty percent of people would never vote for a socialist and this poll doesn't include the fact that people might of said this prior to Obama's election. A gene Lyon is old and stuck in the past thinking America is the same as the nation that elected Ronald Reagan and after seeing the injustices of the banking bailout and how they continue to give big bonuses out to themselves. This man ought to know better where public discourse is going. gene Lyon's has a clue to as why people are flocking to Bernie Sander's but doesn't want to admit it and lies saying there is no great yearning to elect a socialist Democratic or not in America. All Bernie Sanders has to do is maintain the coalition who elected Obama twice against what will most likely be a nutty fringe Republican candidate that the American people will reject once again to the dismay of old media pricks like Gene Lyon who shouldn't really have had a voice on any subject. Maybe then after another Democratic victory and another left-leaning president a old Gene Lyon's will freely admit the American people are fed up with inequalities and abuse of power by a tiny fraction of money hoarders that no amount of money buying media time can influence election any further.
