Taxi drivers demand more from one percent fares

Terry Blue
Taxi drivers all over the urban elite kingdoms of North America are complaining. The Middle Eastern immigrants are starting to see why American working class men left the profession to them starting about 1975. They are starting to see how the police force for the one percent will go to all lengths to squash their protests around the city-state globe. The last thing global elites wants is too see their cheap chauffeurs rise up for a living wage. Many of these global elites snicker at bars that these towel heads need to go get a living wage back in Pakistan. The people who reside in these elite neighborhoods and use taxis often have nothing but scorn for the people who drive them around their skyscraper kingdom.
Taxi drivers are working longer hours driving more and more often a day just to break even. Twelve hour days behind the wheel of a chaotic driving urban area is stressful and dangerous for them and pedestrians. While wages have increased for the financiers and professionals in cities, taxi drivers never see any increases in rates to allow them more income. City leaders see taxi drivers as just another urban pest not worthy of attention much like the pigeon. Political leaders also have contempt for the immigrants that drive rich folks to museums and so forth. The reason they have their elite expensive neighborhoods is to be as far away from taxi drivers and other "common' workers as possible. Taxi drivers and immigrants need to strike and show a couple of days how difficult it can be for the one percent to walk in their walkable communities. No wonder Americans left this indignity job of service to those who can afford three taxi drives a day.
