Arsenio Hall quietly returned to television not too long ago after a very long absence on television. He brings a unique and different perspective of the usual talk shows on late night television. Some people can't stand the fact that there is a "back" show and indeed the awful right wing podcaster named Jimmy Z recently brought this issue up. Apparently a black talk show host cannot have a majority of black guests without having critics complaining about the narrow focus of the show. I just like the fact that Arsenio Hall is on television again and driving the racists nuts who can't avoid the program while surfing through the channels. My father was one critic way back in the nineties when Arsenio made his first successful run as a talk show. People now don't know how serious Arsenio Hall's show was a threat as a new king of late night talk. his mear presence as a legitimate media star drove my dad nuts and I am sure he was not alone back then. The Johnny Carson generation never thought they would see someone like Arsenio on television talking to a doctor named Dre. As quickly has Arsenio rose to prominence one day he called I quits and pulled a David Chappelle just disappearing and making his show unavailable despite the popularity of it. I am glad that my dad, who does nothing in his geriatric days except watch television 18 hours a day, can flick through the channels and remember 1993 again.
