The industrial army complex of the Armymen video games of 2002

Ned Bailey

The Army men series of video games was a lot like the military and the tech industry it both portrayed and was created from by 3DO games. 3DO games went out of business along with many software games but the people who worked there made out like Tijuana bandits. They created like 23 games in three years even though the demand was not there and the series of games was not really that popular. The first few army men games were cute and pretty spectacular in graphics for that time. However, the creators and owners of 3do thought this was some illusion of creating their own video game industrial military complex and came out with so many titles and new games that even die hard enthusiasts for the series like myself got aggravated. The games cost like fifty bucks a pop and how they hell did these rat bastards think kids could keep up. Those that somewhat tried were so disappointed with the new games and results of this quickening of the game release pace that many quit the game. The new numerous titles were nothing like the original Sony 3d game and were so bad they looked like the tech guys at 3do were regressing in graphics and ability. Did it matter to them though? The more titles they threw out the more they got paid until eventually the company was allowed to go bust and future funding was stopped by some bank. This game and company pretty much sums up the tech scam industry of today as much of the shit they put out is useless and eventually will not survive the marketplace if it was allowed to run. However the power the industry has with a government that keeps funding and loaning to them they remain to be a powerful force in America and a complex system on their own. The tech industry is a complex scam that remains alive despite the real lack of important innovation we need for culture and the economy for the world today.
