Joel Kotkin warns the tech industry

Andy Cruz

Bloggingheads.tv has many good debates and discussions about current events. It is in my mind perhaps the best video feed website on the web to hear intellectual discussions on some of the problems in the world. We have mentioned Mr Kotkin in the past and he appeared on one of these shows with some guy named Harry Siegal. They went on to discuss Google and the tech industry in San Francisco along with some of the just criticism of this company and their buses using public roads to help segregate their cult from the rest of peon society. Joel went on to warn Silicon Valley that they should not get so used to their large breeches and egos. Joel was horrified to see how much food these workers get pampered with never having really to do any grocery shopping and having the food bills the rest of society struggles to put on the table. The inequaslity and downsizing of the Middle Class through technology companies such as Google is a national disgrace and they use their wealth hoarding for incredible perks to their employees such as free food anytime they want. This is utterly incomprehensible to Mr Kotkin and many people in this country.
Joel Kotkin says other cities attempts to imitate Silicon Valley will never be able to get off the ground such as New York City's attempt due to the more conservatives and largeness seekness of the average tech worker. Kotkin also wonders where the real value of these companies are and how they are able to pay 18 billion for rights to an application which is more money than the loans that Russia was offering Ukraine a few weeks ago. Make no mistake the tech industry is a Ponzi scheme of smart engineer elites whose real value is fooling investors into thinking what things they make in virtuality is somehow worth more than actually making real manufacturing things to export. The tech social media is one bubble that desperately needs to burst and real soon.
