Ed Glaeser and Richard Florida refuse to see the real reason for Americas debt
One of the most understood discussions when we examine the 18 or is it 20 trillion in debt this country sees itself is the role of transforming many cities into entertainment machines and districts. The cost of establishing a network of "creative" segregation and safety in the new consumer cities bent on only attracting the young and wealthy is never discussed by these two pathetic demographers and urban advocate big mouths. In order to get people to move and pay for the privilege to live in a Portland ,San Francisco, San Jose, Los Angeles, New York, Austin,Boston, or Raleigh -Durham much sending is required for the maintenance and living standard of these select regions to have the best services. The sorting of both private money (from avoided taxes ) and government spending ensures high-tech cities remain the cutting edge and a superior place to live for the educated masses. This is a deliberate plan from a variety of industries to make a few areas thriving as innovator places where the brightest will converge and share ideas on how to make great dating applications for your mobile pone. These creators are so innovative but they use a lot of resources to mold their communities with great entertainment venues and brewery pubs. Public spending geared to these people who demand superior public transportation and bike lanes are part of the reason this country is trillions in debt as tech folks bring much less revenue money than they take out of society and without the millions of investment from angel investors these companies would never exist yet alone get created. If one looks into how these past tech angel investors got help on their start up from government then people can realize how much money has been devoted to these people and how little back most of society gets aside from a few updated gadgets from time to time. Perhaps no urban center describes this debt crisis catering to urban and the educated than improving Washington DC and the amount of wealth taken from the rest of country and given to people in government spending in this region as opposed to the rest of America. This is nothing you will ever hear from Ed Glaeser and Richard Florida and they will never acknowledge that many more American cities were much better off when we actually had manufacturing base in this country. This was when we produced more real physical wealth than these select few creative tech cities could ever accomplish for this country. The cost of high maintenance in order to draw high maintenance people is the real reason for the trillions of debt this country finds itself. Changing the economy back to a solid manufacturing base can only rebound when the power of the finance and technology industries is broken and the average person will never see a recovery in their community until this mission is accomplished.
