The fact that someone like "Weird" Al Yankovic can have a top album in 2014 is a testimony to the awful state of music today. It also says alot about the culture of America that a dude like this can make and sell albums. His latest album "Mandatory Fun" has shown that this culture embraces stupidity and the number of albums released and sold by this terrible artist is incredible. All his songs are just unfunny paradoxes that serve the sophomoric pop obsessed consumer populations and who really listens to Al Yankovic on a CD or download. Despite tremendous changes in the music industry a moron like Al Yankovic can sell albums of these silly songs and basically his popularity is just based on his ability to be ton television and last other popular artists. One asks the question to as why more artists don't go trough the parody path in the music industry.
It could be because it is a lame path that only a fucking weird would actually go trough the trouble of attempting to accomplish and in this regard Al Yankovic is a success. He as adapted to changes with videos and music on-l e in a world of thousands of people being on-line. His only success in this has to do with the fact that he has been doing this for a long time and somehow he has been rewarded by a moronic public that eats up anything some jerks like Al Yankovic putout there.
