The idea of a National Hockey League team ever being valued at a billion dollars wold of seemed Improbable and crazy a few years ago. Bankers though are pushing the commissioner to include a second hockey team in Toronto and other places in North America to move revenue and make commissions trough the industrial sports complex. Las Vegas was another utterly ridiculous rumor for a future National Hockey League and it has become evident that these guys are delusional in their quest to add more cities,owners,markets, and bullshit into the sports entertainment industry. These are bastards that are betting on more public funding to subsidy the profits of rich owners who have the community pay and finance their stadiums while they can put ticket prices only a small segment can afford to invest a d become season ticket holders.
The finance industry is so hungry for the fees and other money to be made for new owners seeking their high financing to bring more hockey to places like Toronto and attempt to put them In Places that will give little shit for it such as Seattle and Las Vegas. Hockey expansion in Southern cities were a disaster as few people in these areas cared for this Northern and Canadian sport. The only reason they are even trying to talk expansion is according to Forbes some 1.4 billion in fees wold be made for the bank. This is a league that keeps celebrating their popularity and growing interest that really isn't there and only in places that have already shown a history of liking this dumb sport. These guys will produce a need and demand for teams that doesn't exist just to get their measly paws on more money. Most of Las Vegas consists of workers who work in the night and a tourist city like this will never embrace a sports team. Seattle is another place with little history of hockey and a more independent streak not about to follow a sport with only regional influence. They have embraced soccer but that is because it appeals on more of a foreign interest and a town that embraces soccer is not going to embrace hockey. This same buzz about more expansion is the same bush it buzz you see other sports leagues talking about expanding overseas when they dam well know transportation costs will all but kill this idea and no amount of television money thrown to this absurdity called sports will make up for the tremendous loss of money if leagues were actually going to make this vacuous move.
