A big fat crisis in modern times

  Jim Oberweight
The epidemic of fat America is hi lighted in a book about obesity and crisis of this country called simply "A Big Fat Crisis". Deborah Cohen goes through her own research and others explain g how this country and increasingly the world got to be so dam fat. Basically the limits of human self control in a tempting world that encourages snacking and eating is to blame and she makes some good cases on how we can change this food culture.
The reality she doesn't write in this good book is that many people do t really give a shit about their overweight and think sits rude even to discuss this topic. When you are trying to explain the health consequences which most fatties that just doesn't give a shit about being so dam  selfish and overweight it is pretty pointless. The burden the health care indusrty is just be of several factors that obesity is plagued g our nation and Dr Cohen suggests limitations on food advertising especially directed at children is a key important method to fight this plague. The same regulation s and prohibitions of  excessive alcohol intake can be used to combat obesity in society.
The author is amazed at ow much food options are on her old campus and the role of corporations profiting g for obesity is another ingredient that is why we have an over abundance of lard asses in today's times compared to past generations when most got basic foods from the farm. The combination of cheap prices and wider portion options is something that thousands of years of civilizations never had to face in recent times. This is a great book by a well-researched natural scientist who is perplexed by the number of overweight people that are being produced from unregulated food industry that is stuffing Americans like cattle about to be lead to the slaughterhouse.
