Matt Lewis is suppose to talk politics on blogginghead TV debates or program with Bill Scherer and there he was on the computer again looking ridiculous and talking about baseball for the first ten minutes. The baseball playoffs cannot even beat some zombie cable program in the ratings and invariably this is a topic that Lewis thinks somehow the DMZ program should start out. Bill usually mocks this American sports talk jingoism with discussions of his beloved Auckland Kangaroos Australian rugby team and international following and I have often found foreign sports talk to be a brilliant effective method to shutting up American sports addicted know everythings. Lewis came on with a Baltimore Oriole baseball hat with this discussion and instead of talking about the upcoming political races or international war drums he proceeded to waste time talking about the woes of Washington's sports teams. The arrogance of sports guys into thinking that everyone
shares his enthusiasm for eighteenth century sports games that can take up to four hours to finish is very frustrating to those that have to hear of it. Matt Lewis talked about how he will have more Sundays as his Washington Pigskins football team struggles and has another awful season in store with the injury of Robert Griffen III. when matt sees the accomplishments of other similar quarterbacks who entered the league a few years ago such as Russell Wilson and Colin Kapernick he really gets depressed with the situation with Washington NFL football. The Capitals and Nationals failures in the playoffs is another poor situation that Washington sports geeks like matt Lewis see themselves. Inevitably they did get around to taling about politics including the Dakota senate race and hoe republicans can play social values to gain women's support. with the demise of the orioles the other day to the beloved Royals I hope lewis puts that dirty nasty hat back in the closet and shuts up on baseball talk that only geriatrics from the sixties and seventies only have enthusiasm of anymore.
