In late October right before Halloween the FBI played a trick on Tony Hu and his three restaurants in Chicago's Chinatown district. They raided his dirty kitchens and took some boxes to their district office from Mr Hu's respected and beloved Chinese restaurants and to this day we still do not know what was the reasoning for this raid. Was it to avenge similar raids on mcdonalds in China and Russia about the same time as trade restrictions and verbal political mudslinging becomes widespread. Russians have been raiding and harassing McDonald locations in Russia likewise in China as some sort of sign that they will regulate American business especially one as iconic as the golden arches. Tony Hu though may have been selling some rare duck or exotic fish that has been depleted seriously in recent years as the Chinese often have no regard for species and other fisheries of other nations .I don't know what makes Mr Hu's places so popular as if they were located in a mundane suburban strip mall few people would of heard this guy. his place is only special because it is in Chinatown and his chicken and other meats are clearly not gluten free and GMO.
Lao Beijing Restaurant, on the 2100 block of South Archer Avenue, in the Chinatown neighborhood, was one of several locations visted. The owner, Tony Hu, owns the Tony gourmet group which is just a fancy way of saying Chinese cheap kitchen eateries, and it appeared several of his locations were being investigated. Who knows it could be that he has a big roach problem in his places and was using some chemical that has long been banned in the states but still widely used in China in ensuring no roaches get in the chop suey. these Chinese places are also known to harbor illegal aliens for the slave wage workers that are more readily available and easily disposable in China. New York has long had a serious illegal Chinese problem that is little discussed as they far outnumber the illegal Mexican immigrant in New York.
