Syndicated columnist Rick Telander has written about sports for over twenty years I believe and I think in this time just recently he observed something about the NBA. Rick wrote a recent controversial piece in his sports column about how White American-born NBA players are not a factor in today's NBA with their numbers on rosters becoming smaller and smaller. As the international game picks up and European (white) players share of the NBA rosters fill up Rick has noticed that fewer and fewer of his countrymen, kind, and folk are taking up the game less. It is interesting that Rick never says nothing about the lack of Asian or Mexicans in the NBA but getting back on track I was just wondering one thing about Telander's recent accuse observation. Why now? Rick says he can't help to notice and maybe Rick don't pay much attention to the outside economic culture of the world and of this country. Maybe he would see and have his eyes notice that for many sports is a vehicle to get their picture in the newspaper like his old mug has been in so many years. There are many poor and minority youth who didn't have ability to become a journalist of sports and had to p,ay to stardom instead of get paid to write.
There are guys in the NBA that knew they wouldn't ever get a cushy sit down office job where one can write about sports all day so they had to get off their but and use their athletic talents and mans evolutionary tallness development to put these advantages to use for guys like Rick Telander to write about. Rick Telander has made a good living as have many of his ilk through the redistribution of corporate money into a few hands and families in America whose social connections are more i,portent tha athletic abilities. Maybe this s something a Rick Telander should try to notice more. Also he needs to notice that there are no Asians or Mexicans proportionally in pro basketball.
