John Michael Greer was once again a guest on the James Howard Kuntsler podcast talking about the failures of modern technology. Kuntsler has had few programs in months and has had this scary Druid only about five months ago. However, as usual Greer is a great guest and makes many great points about the vast government and corporate structure that misleads people. He brought up the fallacy that cars bring freedom to people without realizing the precipitous hole we have dug ourselves creating a infrastructure that is far from free. The among of money to build and maintain roads is one of the leading roles of local and state debt and coming bankruptcy from this foolish lifestyle and lack of mobility we can actually afford. The only thing that has propelled the American economy was the tremendous amount of borrowing that we have done from foreign forces and eventually all these IOUs will be coming and we will be broke. They discussed how the fracking drilling scam has been used to sell to pension funds and other institutions of financial investing clubs sure to get burned by their silly nonsense of our fuel independence. They discussed the irrelevancy and waste of time that the Internet is despite the fact they use this to promote themselves and get their voices out to the public through podcasts and writings all over the Internet. The growing resistance to science is the final topic they wrap up as the obvious failures of science and the only benefits go to few people at the top of the pyramid. Fr the rest of society we get the toxic waste and harmful costs that get passed on down to the poor who are increasingly seeing science as a weapon against them. Another grim prediction and look into the future as resources dwindle and the masses rebel.another interesting talk about the state of the world energy capacity and how the wishful thinking of technology misleads many people into thinking things will improve everything and fix all the problems that basically dependence on high intakes of energy have helped create in this world.
