The new Star Wars trailer appeared this week exciting many science fiction enthusiasts who cant get enough of Star Wars. how this story line of superficial interest continues to gather such acclaim and love from the public I find disturbing and yet intriguing. The people today showing all this interest were not around when the first few movies came out with a young Harrison Ford and his yeti sidekick by the name of Chewbacca. Harrison Ford appeared at the end of the trailer that was just released telling the man in the wolfman outfit that they were back home. Harrison Ford looks like Hans Solo's grandfather and I will be interested in seeing how this story develops especially given the last three star war movies that were so lame and as memorable as Mashed Potatoes at a Thanksgiving meal. annalists are already predicting this movie will smash all box office records but I am not sure there is enough interest in this movie from the movie going generation more use to books than movie of this genre. Again Harrison ford is like really really old and perhaps if one o the younger actors rises in this movie it may peak interest. Star Wars just is pretty old and tired out concept demonstrating the inabilities of writers to conceive of something fresh and inspiring and having to rely on movie smashes from four decades ago in order to guarantee much free publicity and profits in a struggling Hollywood scene. Of course they have to highlight a black guy who loos as out of place in a storm trooper outfit as Ivan Dixon looked like in his stormtrooper German outfit in a few Hogan Heroes episodes. Writers nowdays are so bereft with writing abilities that all the movies now are based on the same comic and science fiction This is what I most despise about Star wars and the original characters returning for more fiction nonsense instead of new space storylines perhaps something titles " "Warriors of the Stars" about a group of space gangbangers out to fight for the Republic or empire. Come up with something at least a slight unique and new instead of relying on George Lucas rehashed crap.
