Cougar Face
An injured beautiful cougar came from the prairies outside Omaha, Nebraska and snuggled itself next to a public building the other day to rest and nurse its leg. The Cougar was not bothering anyone and was bidding time for its leg to get better before going to the dangerous forests of Nebraska until it was spotted by freaked out office workers for this building and they called theorize. Nebraskan outdated malevolent laws concerning wildlife required this poor gorgeous creature to be shot and the police came and shot this unarmed creature sixteen times as it rose only to run up against the building as it was being mercilessly tortured and destroyed for no reason. The shocked cougar couldn't believe that it couldn't get refuge from the wild even in this non-desript building and its corner window. Perhaps the cougar heard the news last few weeks on how another California mountain lion had seemed refuge under a house and was cheered and caressed back into health through the cheers of observe g media and crowds of supportive onlookers. Well this is Omaha and not the West coast where they shoot first then debate later and for this cougar this was unfortunate. There was no reason that it could not have been handled better tranquilizer g it and putting it temporary in a shelter or zoo until it got better for rerelease into the wild. This story is disgusting and shows the negligible thoughts of people in this state and city on how to treat your fellow creature that was not harming anyone. Humans continue to build onto the fringes of the last remaining wildlife habitats all over whether its Nebraska or New Jersey and it sold be no surprise some animals will get lost and wander onto the other side and people need not get freaked out. Nebraska needs to be taken to task and immediately put pressure on local ordinances such as that require the animal to be slaughtered when there are more humane effective methods of dealing with lovely wildlife venturing into thriving hip areas and all that Omaha has to offer.
