Steve Dahl was on his corporate radio show again this week spending a long time talking about Dunkin donuts. The amount of time Dahl spent talking about long Johns and how its always great to have a donut any time of day was clearly an example of what I called paid on-air talk that Steve Dahl has mastered over the years broadcasting on the radio. He can reiterate a product in casual talk talk about a product like it is actual conversation without the audience letting on that basically the only reason Dahl is talking about this company or product is a subtle additional form of advertising. Steve Dahl went on to say that his wife Janet usually ordered a vanilla long john and that he was surprised the other day when they went to another free downtown show that she surprised him with an order of chocolate long johns and so forth. This bullshit that corporate talk radio has become where companies can sublimely be included into a conversation or discussion is basically what talk radio has become these days. Dunkin Donuts is capital of neo-liberalistic over-priced bakery and it shouldn't be surprising that a corporate twig like Dahl would promote the most corporate of all corporate example one can think of in this day. Instead of talking up some independent bakery of European extraction such as O and H Danish bakery in Racine and Kenosha Wisconsin this fat ass picks the worst donut shop to visit. these shady donut chains which is owned by Indian immigrants for the most part that ship their donuts in the Chicago area froma central location getting plenty of deisal fuel mixed into the jelly. Fat Dahl and others who support this cruddy chain and find solace with this place know little of what a bakery and the fresh items it should hold for their customers. O and H Danish bakery is in a different world and is like well Denmark compared to Dunkin Donuts which is the worse of neo-liberalist India in the way they run their business to total cheapness and maximize profits. It is like the difference between Scandinavia and shitty Kashmir India and only the tremendous amount of money and corporate spending and crony capitalist tendencies has allowed this donut chain to spread out in so many suburban villages paying meat head shit fucks like Steve Dahl to talk up the product.
