Video gaming lounges are set to expand despite Rahm Emanuel's resistance thanks to Alderman Deb Mell pushing a change in Chicago's code that would make it easier for gaming lounges to be established in commercial strip mall retail locations. At a time when libraries are being closed and teaching staff depleted we have the private world and their politicians in their cookie jar trying to get video game lounges for teenagers to waste their money. 
Ignite Gaming Lounge is in Deb Mell's Northwest side district in Chicago and evidently a big contributor to the Mell aldermanic campaigns in the past. The lounge is open from 2pm to 3 am Monday thru Friday and is frequented by teenagers who should be home at some of those times. Where these teenagers will cough up the dough to play the latest Playstation,Xbox,and Wii games when they are spending all of their time playing instead of working at these lounges that this idiot Mell wants to expand all over the city. The old code required any gaming places to be in big commercial strip malls but now Mell will have these next to the corner store and the corner dope dealer. 
Alderman Mell says that the city should encourage safe havens for kids to congregate and waste their time during high crime summer months but what Mell doesn't say this will benefit Ignite's owners such as Flavous Maximus. He says the demand is that great for teenagers to play video games and pay per hour instead of in their parents basement. This is a recipe for disaster and these places will bring more trouble than its worth for these kids stepping aside the obvious contradiction that you want them to be playing video games constantly and that is a good social opportunity. The stupid owner with the stupid name had the audacity to say in a recent Sun-Times story that these places give kids the opportunity to be social and opportunities for physical interaction. This is video games we are talking about and the only physical interactions will be altercations when teens get upset at losing or losing their favorite table and computer by some fellow slacker. 
Fucking Flavius also said that the reason there are not already four dozen gaming lounges right now in Chicago and Cook County is because of the zoning troubles and residence to change to allow more of these lounges to operate thanks to Rahm Emanuel who rightfully sees it as a joke that this jerk wants to profit more from the dumbing down of city youth.
