Professor Michael Munger's unicorn comparision a compromise of thick-headeness
Jerry Palmer
Libertarian professor Michael Munger is an ass. This guy at Duke University is constantly hating on the government of which without the spending as libertarians decry mostly likely would be driving a cab instead of teaching economic courses at a prestigious university such as Duke University. oh you say Duke is not a state University, but without a strong state the ground works for a Duke University would never have been planted. In tobacco country. This is something this geek Munger realizes but he is funded by Libertarian big wigs who re-use critiques of the state to serve big business. I recently discovered some writings where he compared unicorns. You know when I read this shit I guess I can see why a university such as elite Duke would have hired a big business speaker such as Michael Munger to be teaching economics. A guy like Munger mocks those who want a strong state asking how a state can have a army of millions, but then have one guy like a George W Bush decide on when to wage war as if somehow this organization wasn't possible in a feudal system under a kingdom.Munger says unicorns don't exist as doesn't the idea of an all compromising benevolent state and indeed some states do eventually get to aggressive and powerful. State control of control are the causes of this violence that a Munger is too easy to overlook and not consider. It is the rich and powerful that wage war and their war wagering would be more consistent and regular without state control as medevil history shows. A Michael Munger will decry the power of state wealth and distribution but considers private resources and the allocation of expenditure through their hands as rightful heirs to dominate the economy. In Michael Munger's world unicorns are like the state and he thinks they really don't exist. The thing though is the state does exist. This cock face jack doesn't want to admit tgat its preferabke to have a world with government education open up to all through state schools and not just for the sons and daughters of a few. Otherwise only they along with money and family legacies woukd be allowed highrr education and opportunity that come with he Notre Dames and the Duke universities along with the ivy schools. This is why Michael Munger thinks government is a fairy tale like unicorns as he likes to speak of in his various libertarian sponsored propaganda videos and lectures to Duke university students. Government does exist and this idiot should see from the various important infrastructures that built the dams and highways and various other important government ventures that the private industry would of ignored. The government-unicorn tale is a conception of this meatheads thin skin and thick brain structure. Instead of unicorns this libertarian jerk should look in the mirror and think donkeys ,mules, and jackasses.

ReplyDeleteThis essay is one non-sequitor piled upon another, but, most importantly for its purported purpose, it massively misstates Prof. Munger's unicorn analogy. He does NOT (as Mr. Palmer asserts) say that the state, like the unicorn, does not exist. He does NOT (as Mr. Palmer implies) say that the state can never do anything good.
ReplyDeleteRather, Prof. Munger uses his unicorn metaphor to point out that we cannot just assume that the state always is beneficent, or even lacks a selfish interest in the matters it seeks to influence or control. Anyone who denies that point probably sees a lot of unicorns.
What gain does the state get from going after sugary drink companies costing society with fat kids who will be unproductive and on disability drinking too much soda in fifteen years???. Does they seek to open up lemonade stands and nationalize them by taking out coke a cola
ReplyDeleteThe whole point of a state is to control something. Rather have one that tries to implant some democratic principles than a fiefdom of feudal kingdom. Corporations hate government because they set the rules and not their appointed boards from the Duke Universities or ivy school of your choice.
